Corrected: Conservative Christians, conservative campus? 17

The Chimes, Capital University, Columbus , OH

9 hours ago by Alane Hiler

Let me start out by saying I am probably one of the most morally conservative students on campus. I'm a Christian woman, and my greatest goals in life are to love and serve God with everything I have and to encourage my family to do the same. Yes, I think the place in which I most belong is the home; yes, I believe I should "submit to my husband;" and yes, I find the sex column of the Chimes to be repulsive.

Pro-Life vs. Pro-Death: 11

The Sentinel, Ohio State University, None, OH

1 day ago by Sharon Sampson

Spring quarter wouldn't be the same without everyone's favorite activist group, the Center for Bio-Ethical Reform, paying an annual visit and displaying their "Genocide Awareness Project." A beautiful display of photographs ranging from corpses to bloody fetuses, GAP is a Pro-Life initiative that is supposed to help call attention to the harsh realities of abortion.

Think twice: where does the holiday money go? 4

The Chimes, Capital University, Columbus , OH

9 hours ago by Jordan T. Smith

This holiday season if you are out shopping for gifts at your favorite mall or taking a stroll through a downtown area in the brisk weather, you will probably see a person dressed in a formal military style outfit ringing a bell by a red kettle and asking people to drop their spare change in it.

Global warming takes leaf out of Trojan horse 3

The Chimes, Capital University, Columbus , OH

10 hours ago by Gabe Koshinsky

A specter is haunting the world. It's the specter of global warming. Throughout the ages man has feared the end and to that end I am looking forward to 2012. Not only will Barack Obama be re-elected, but the world will experience a complete warming meltdown.

Taylor Swift: the reason for the teardrops on my laptop keyboard

The Transcript , Ohio Wesleyan University , OH

Imma let you finish, but Miranda Lambert had the best country album OF ALL TIME!

I hate Kanye West.

Why? He insulted Taylor Swift at the VMAs. Hence, people started feeling sorry for Taylor. Hence, people started listening to her music. HENCE, Taylor Swift won three Grammys Sunday night.

The F-word=the eighth dirty word

The Chimes, Capital University, OH

3 days ago by Gabe Koshinsky

This past week I was asked to write an apology to the Greek Council Executive Board for statements I made at a rush party. Instead of surrendering to their demands and lowering myself to the personal agendas of a select few, I have chosen instead to explain why I stand loyal to my fraternity and my principles.

Why bad things happen: One practicing Christian's perspective

The Chimes, Capital University, OH

3 days ago by Billy Snashall

The recent events in Haiti, as well our struggles, force us to question why such things happen. I feel moved to share my views and those of many (but not all) Christians in response to times like these. I want to start by saying I hope this will be the beginning of a productive discussion about the problem of evil and not the end of one.

Tristan's Tracks: Contra by Vampire Weekend

The Denisonian, Denison University, OH

5 days ago by Tristan Eden

The worry, of course, was that Vampire Weekend's second album would sound like some other band trying really hard to sound like Vampire Weekend. There was the very real possibility that Contra would sound affected and self-conscious. Instead, thankfully, it just sounds like Vampire Weekend.

Show your skills: What to do with a liberal arts degree

The Denisonian, Denison University, OH

5 days ago by Natalie Olivo

As Denison students, we've all had to justify pursuing a liberal arts degree at one point or another during our undergraduate careers. Senior economics and history double major, Brian Cox, found himself having to do so during an interview for an internship last spring.
