Thumbs:

Thumbs Up- Construction that comes to an end!
Thompson Memorial Library renovation? Done, and SWEET. Ohio Union? Soon to be done, equally sweet. Campus road projects/new garages? Done. 315 reopening? On time- did not see that one coming. North C High St. mess? Coming to a close. Kudos to both Ohio State and the City of Columbus for doing their jobs.

Thumbs Up- Bosco the police dog is back on his feet.
We here at the Sentinel are very pro-puppy, especially when that puppy has a job. Bosco sustained two gunshot wounds during an August arrest that affected his neurological system and left the dog temporarily paralyzed. After intensive therapy he is back on his feet and the Sentinel staff applauds Bosco and wishes him all the best. Dogs and guns are both awesome, however shooting a well-trained, awesome animal is not.

Thumbs Down- Jon Gosselin.
This self indulgent rant has been a long time coming. Jon Gosselin of TLC's Jon and Kate + 8 has a problem, a "him" problem. Kate may be an emasculating control-freak with a bad haircut and a litter of kids, but that's not half as bad as what her ex-husband is: a self-loathing pussy with a beer gut and an Ed Hardy obsession. Seriously, their marriage failed because Jon is a spineless, insecure child who has yet to figure out how to live life in the realms of reality. Controlling, demanding, neurotic women that want ten kids loooove men like Jon Gosselin because they know that they can walk all over him. Until he mans up, he will find himself constantly involved with these psycho-bitches. He should start a show called Dickless: The Trials and Tribulations of Jon Gosselin. I'm just saying.

Words of Wisdom: Rand and Hugo: They never get old.

"Ask yourself whether the dream of heaven and greatness should be waiting for us in our graves - or whether it should be ours here and now and on this earth." - Ayn Rand, Atlas Shrugged

"Nothing discernable to the eye of the spirit is more brilliant or obscure than man; nothing is more formidible, complex, mysterious, and infinite. There is a prospect greater than the sea, and it is the sky; there is a prospect greater than the sky, and it is the human soul." - Victor Hugo, Les Miserables

"Fortresses, like women, boast of their besiegers when they are distinguished."
-Victor Hugo, Toilers of the Sea

"That love is reverence, and worship, and glory, and the upward glance. Not a bandage for dirty sores. But they don't know it. Those who speak of love most promiscuously are the ones who've never felt it. They make some sort of feeble stew out of sympathy, compassion, contempt, and general indifference, and they call it love. Once you've felt what it means to love as you and I know it - the total passion for the total height - you're incapable of anything less." - Ayn Rand, The Fountainhead
